Justine Triet won a well-deserved Oscar for the screenplay of her Anatomy of a Fall, one of the very few courtroom thrillers with an intricate plot that doesn't feel like it would fall to pieces if you employed a little skepticism about the things it asks you to believe. It's anchored by a fine performance by Sandra Hüller as a woman on trial as much for the small mistakes and missteps of her life as for the crime she's accused of committing.
